Call it clutch time, confidence or faith. Bishop England quarterback Leo Albano just calls it winning time.
Albano turned to John Cantey as the final minutes were melting away in the fourth quarter of a tie game against West Ashley and assured his head coach the win was still within reach.
“It’s possible,” Albano said. “We can do it.”
Two minutes later, Bishop England was in the end zone for the go-ahead score of a 21-16 win over West Ashley on Friday at Jack Cantey Stadium on Daniel Island.
It’s the first 2-0 start for Bishop England since 2007 and only the second time the Class AAA Bishops have ever defeated the AAAAA Wildcats (1-1).
