Porter-Gaud dealt Bishop England a 69-45 loss Saturday on Daniel Island in 69th edition of the rivalry series.

Cyclones senior Aaron Nesmith scored a game-high 16 points while Josiah James added 13 and Jake Lanford 11 in little more than two quarters of play.

Nesmith scored 14 points in the second and third quarter alone. He finished the first quarter with a two-handed slam that opened a 21-12 advantage.

Porter-Gaud held Bishop England scoreless for more than three minutes into the second quarter. James scored nine points in the frame as the Cyclones outscored the Bishops 25-5 to take a 46-17 lead into halftime.

Porter-Gaud finished 23-of-33 (70 percent) from inside the three-point arc.

Peyton Doyle led Bishop England with 18 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Leo Albano added 11 points and Aidan McCool added eight. Bishop England committed a season-high 23 turnovers.

Both teams jump back into region play this week. Porter-Gaud (14-2) will host Northwood Academy and Pinewood Prep. Bishop England (5-8) will travel to Manning and host Hanahan.
