The traditional start to the Lowcountry high school football season has arrived.
The 47th annual Sertoma Football Classic is slated for The Citadel’s Johnson Hagood Stadium on Aug. 10-11.
Gates open at 4 p.m. and play begins at 5 p.m. each day.
Four Berkeley County schools – Cane Bay, Timberland, Goose Creek and Stratford - will be in action for two quarters apiece. Also, Northwood Academy lines up against North Charleston for two periods.
On Thursday, Northwood Academy ignites the first day of competition. Later, Cane Bay takes on St. John’s and Timberland tangles with Oceanside Collegiate.
On Friday, Stratford matches up with Baptist Hill and Goose Creek squares off against Bishop England.
