Bishop England suffered a season-ending 74-64 loss at Dillon Tuesday in the Class AAA Lower State semifinals.

Keenan Norman scored 18 points and Darius Boatwright added 17 to lead the Wildcats who shot 54 percent from the field. Dillon had six players score five points or more in the highest scoring game of Class AAA’s third round.

Dillon led 32-29 at halftime before pouring in 21 points in the third quarter and another 21 in the fourth. Norman led the Wildcats’ late scoring flurry with 15 points in the second half while Norman tacked on 11.

Bishop England kept pace most of the night, scoring well above its season average of 59 points per game.

Bishops senior forward Christian Drummond logged his 12th double-double of the season with a game-high 26 points and 10 rebounds. Drummond hit five 3-pointers in the game and scored 10 points in the fourth quarter.

All-state guard Brendan McHale added 22 points and Leo Albano tallied 13 points with six rebounds and five assists. Drummond, McHale and Albano made every field goal, handed out every assist and scored all but three points for the Bishops.

Bishop England outrebounded Dillon, 34-30, collecting 26 on the defensive glass. The Bishops finished with just three steals, though, after averaging nine all season. 

Dillon (16-5) advances to face Brookland-Cayce in the AAA Lower State championship game Saturday in Florence.

Bishop England ends its season 20-6 overall after its deepest postseason run since 2006.
